Colorado State University Celebrates Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown in Denver Sept. 3-4

Colorado State University invites CSU Ram fans, alumni and friends to events in Denver Sept. 3-4 in preparation for the Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown between the Colorado State University Rams and the University of Colorado Buffalos. This year’s match-up is the 82nd meeting between CSU and CU and will take place at noon Saturday, Sept. 4, at Invesco Field at Mile High.

Following is a list of CSU events during the week and weekend.

Thursday, Sept. 2

Bleed Green & Gold Blood Drive
8 a.m.–1 p.m., CSU Denver Center, 425 17th Street

Join CSU in giving back to the community with the First Annual Bleed Green and Gold Blood Drive benefitting Children’s Hospital. Donation spaces are limited. For more information about registration, call Matt Milner at the CSU Alumni Association at (303) 376-2624.

Friday, Sept. 3

College Colors Day

Get your green and gold on and show your support for CSU at work and at classes. College Colors Day is a national celebration of the traditions and spirit that make the college experience great.

Denver Ram Rally on the 16th Street Mall – Skyline Park
11 a.m.-1 p.m., Denver

Join Rams fans from across the state as they get the Showdown started in downtown Denver on the 16th Street Mall across from the clock tower on 16th and Arapahoe. The event will feature Brian Roth, the voice of the Rams, and will include appearances by CSU coaches, former players, CAM the Ram, the CSU Pep Band, and the Spirit Squad combined with booths and displays from various campus organizations. The event is free and open to the public.

The highlight of the event will be a noontime pep rally and a chance to win a Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown package, including two tickets and parking to the game. The showcase will feature performances by student organizations and booths and displays from:

Ram Rally at Lodo’s
5 p.m., Denver

The party continues with the Ram Rally at Lodo’s Bar and Grill from 5-7 p.m. Friday. The Lodo’s Rally will feature CAM the Ram, the Spirit Squad, the pep band, former players and CSU dignitaries. Saturday, Sept. 4

Official CSU Pregame Tailgate
9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Fans can enjoy a tailgate buffet and music by the Nacho Men while getting ready for the big game. The CSU Marching Band, cheerleaders and CAM the Ram also will entertain the crowd. . Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown Kickoff
Noon, Invesco Field at Mile High

The Rocky Mountain Showdown is Colorado’s longest-running, in-state football rivalry and attracts more than 68,000 fans to the annual event. Traditionally played on Labor Day weekend, this game serves as the official kickoff of the college football season in Colorado.
