Colorado State University’s College of Business Offers First Sustainability Certificate Course March 5-6

Colorado State University College of Business’ Sustainability Executive Education program is offering its inaugural course on business sustainability, “Insight for Action: The Keys to Business Sustainability.” The course will be offered March 5-6 at Rockwell Hall on campus.

The Insight for Action course will prepare participants to build the business case for sustainability in their organizations and introduces different strategies, tactics and tools used to implement sustainability at a profit.

“Sustainability is no longer a ‘cost center’ but a source of profitability for enterprises,” said Jeff Hohensee, principal instructor and vice president of Natural Capitalism Solutions, SEE’s executive education partner. “This course gives students the basic tools needed to start implementing business-building, climate-saving and forward-looking innovative strategies.”

Early enrollment includes participants from large local enterprises, such as New Belgium Brewery and Vestas, as well as participants from the public sector, including Larimer County, according to Kathryn Ernst, SEE program manager.

“This short certificate course, offered at an affordable price, has found a good place in the market,” said Carl Hammerdorfer, director of CASE, the Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Enterprise. “We have consulted extensively with businesses, government agencies and individuals who had expressed interest in courses on business sustainability, and as a result, we redesigned and re-priced this course.”

The course is open to non-degree and degree students (a one-credit course for qualifying degree students).
