Media Advisory: Patrick L. Phillips to speak at Colorado State University’s College of Business April 29

The Everitt Real Estate Center at CSU’s College of Business will host Patrick L. Phillips as this year’s featured speaker for the annual Legacy, Leadership & Lessons speaker series.

WHEN: The event will be held 10-11:15 a.m. Friday, April 29, in the Bohemian Auditorium of Rockwell Hall West on CSU’s campus.

DETAILS: Phillips is chief executive officer of the Urban Land Institute, which was established in 1936. ULI is the largest global non-profit research and education organization with nearly 35,000 members representing all aspects of land use and development disciplines. Its mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.

Phillips’ career spans more than 20 years and includes a special emphasis in the economic analysis of real estate and land use. Phillips is also an expert in the intersection of private investments and public policy. Prior to taking the position as the top staff executive at ULI, he was president and chief executive officer of ERA AECOM (formerly Economics Research Associates).

Phillips often has advised public agencies and non-profit organizations on issues related to public-private partnerships for economic development. He is a frequent speaker on urban development issues and is the author or co-author of eight books and numerous articles. In 2005, Phillips led a nationally prominent economic development team as part of the ULI advisory services panel making recommendations on post-Katrina rebuilding efforts in New Orleans.
