15th Annual Northern Colorado Real Estate Conference Reveals Statewide ‘Mind of the Market’ Survey Results

The 15th Annual Northern Colorado Real Estate Conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at the Fort Collins Hilton. The conference is hosted by Colorado State University’s Everitt Real Estate Center in collaboration with CSU’s Construction Management Department. Results from the center’s statewide “Mind of the Market” survey results from Colorado’s commercial real estate industry will be unveiled at the conference.

This conference will be the first time executive directors from the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Rocky Mountain Chapter, the Associated General Contractors of Colorado and the American Institute of Architects Colorado will come together to discuss the results of the first joint statewide surveys of their members and the commercial real estate community. The leaders of these organizations will reveal thoughts and business expectations for 2012 from their perspective industries, including top risks and best opportunities.

In addition, the keynote address will be presented by Bob White, president of Real Capital Analytics and one of the world’s foremost experts on real estate capital markets. He will discuss current trends in the real estate capital markets, including significant trends in smaller markets.

“This is the best year yet, a true rendezvous of Colorado’s architects, contractors and real estate professionals discussing future risks and opportunities supplemented by one of the global experts on real estate capital markets. We are all asking, ‘Where is the money?’ so this is the event to discover answers,” said Steve Laposa, a professor in the College of Business.

The Everitt Real Estate Center will also release a five-year forecast for the Fort Collins-Loveland and Greeley-Evans office and retail property sectors during the commercial real estate breakout. The outlook panel responding to the forecasts includes Pat Brady of FirstBank, Paul Brinkman of Brinkman Construction, Allen Ginsborg of Newmark Merrill and Randy Shortridge of RB+B Architects.

The Residential Real Estate Breakout will feature Mike Rinner of The Genesis Group, who will present housing starts and an economic update, followed by Julie Piepho, Certified Mortgage Banker and executive vice president of Cornerstone Mortgage, who will present “Dynamic Transformations in the Mortgage Market.”

Participants are encouraged to bring co-workers, suppliers, contractors, consultants, engineers and other professionals to this gathering as an investment in workers and firms during these critical and perplexing economic times.
