Media Advisory/Photo opportunity: Former Gov. Bill Ritter Leads Bike Parade to TEDxCSU event on Monday

WHEN/WHERE:

As part of the first TEDxCSU event, Former Gov. Bill Ritter will lead a bike ride from Colorado State University’s Oval to the Fort Collins Lincoln Center to kick off the event.

Ritter, now director for CSU’s Center for the new Energy Economy, will lead the TEDxCSU bike ride at 1:15 p.m. April 23 from Colorado State University’s Oval. Event volunteers will hand out raffle tickets until 1:15 p.m. at the Administration Building and draw for winners once all bicyclists arrive at the Lincoln Center.

TEDxCSU is an event designed for the university and Fort Collins communities to hear speakers address different aspects of environmental sustainability such as energy, education, design and the effects of language on the future of sustainability. This year’s event will be held at 2 p.m. April 23 at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center Performance Hall, 417 W. Magnolia St.

General public tickets are now on sale through the Fort Collins Lincoln Center’s website, www.lctix.com, for $12. Student tickets are sold out.

This year’s theme is “Growing Greener Generations” and includes prominent speakers such as Ritter; Hunter Lovins, co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Institute; and eTown host Nick Forrester.
