Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Colorado State University Celebrates 150 Years of the Morrill Land-Grant Act

Colorado State University, in conjunction with the annual Lagoon Concert Series sponsored by The Mantooth Company, will celebrate 150 years of the Morrill Land-Grant Act from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 3 on the west lawn of the Lory Student Center.

Details:

The Morrill Act was signed by President Abraham Lincoln granting federal land to each state to subsidize colleges to educate people in agriculture, engineering and home economics. The act gave us the start to becoming the great research university we are today.

The celebration of Morrill Land-Grant Act at the Lagoon Concert Series will include free cupcakes and bottles of water as well as additional information about the Morrill Act available at the event. To learn more about the Morrill Act of 1862, visit www.colostate.edu/morrillact.

The performance at the Lagoon Concert Series will feature The Indulgers, a Celtic rock band local to Colorado.
