CSU Day at the 2012 Larimer County Fair is Saturday, Aug. 4

CSU Day at the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo will be Saturday, Aug. 4, at The Ranch in Loveland as part of fair activities Aug. 3-7. In Colorado State University’s honor, The Ranch will be awash in green and gold with an appearance by CAM the Ram and other activities.

The outdoor CSU booth, hosted by the Alumni Association, will be open from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on the north side of the Larimer County Fairgrounds. Featured will be giveaways, photos with CAM the Ram, CAM coloring books and crayons, an inflatable football toss, admissions information, Alumni Association information, and representatives of Athletics, the College of Agricultural Sciences, Club Sports, Colorado AgriAbility and the Entomology Club, among others.

Student volunteers will run the College of Agricultural Sciences’ trademark Ag Adventure program, which uses interactive exhibits to teach kids and adults about the sources of our food and fiber. Participants learn about agricultural issues including food safety, soil ecology and other intricacies of modern food production. Ag Adventure exhibits will be staged for the entire run of the fair.

The Larimer County Fair and Rodeo celebrates the heritage of northern Colorado with traditional fair events such as 4-H livestock shows and exhibits, a five-acre carnival, a pancake breakfast and Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association rodeos. The fair also boasts such entertainment as Splash Dogs, Timberworks Lumberjack Show, Ham Bone Express Pig Races and the Gnarly Barley Brew Festival.

Attendance and parking for the Fair are free. Visit www.LarimerCountyFair.org for more information.
