Colorado State University Names New Career Center Director

Colorado State University’s Career Center has named Jeremy Podany the new Career Center director.

Podany’s experience in employer relationships, recruiting partnerships and career counseling expertise will benefit the Career Center, said Summer Shaffer, associate director of communications and outreach for the Career Center.

Podany comes to Colorado State from Indiana University’s School of Informatics and Computing where he served as director of Career Services. He has worked in higher education for more than 12 years, most of which has been in career services.

"CSU students and alumni present a diverse skill set to employers, are well trained and have proven to show strong work ethic,” Podany said. “I look forward to further strengthening the community relationships already forged by our employer relations staff and welcoming more recruiters to campus through our on-campus interviews and recruiting events.

“I am a strong believer in partnerships and look forward working with our staff, CSU student family members, community allies and campus partners to offer world-class career services for CSU students and alumni."

Podany received his bachelor’s degree in education from Western Michigan University and his master’s in higher education and student affairs from Indiana University.

The Colorado State Career Center works with every academic college to engage more than 500 employers on-campus per year, post more than 6,000 jobs and internships and offer students and alumni assistance with their career goals, including individual career counseling appointments, personality and career assessment and interpretation, career and major exploration tools, practice interviews, job and internship postings on CareerRAM, on-campus interviews and career fairs.
