Colorado State University Rams Take On the Buffs in Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown Sept. 1

Colorado State University invites CSU Ram fans, alumni and friends to root on the Rams during the 84th Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown between the CSU Rams and the CU Buffaloes. This year’s match-up will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Student tickets and single-game tickets for the event are now on sale. Special student ticket pricing of $25 per ticket ends Aug. 29. Students can catch a ride to the game with the Ram Road Trip, an ASCSU-sponsored bus trip to and from Denver, for $15. Single-game ticket pricing can be found at www.csurams.com.

Thursday, Aug. 30

Grill the Buffs Pep Rally
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Lory Student Center West Lawn
Get ready to battle the Buffs at this free event hosted by the Associated Students of Colorado State University (ASCSU), Association for Student Activity Programming and CSU Athletics. Beginning at 11:30 a.m., CAM the Ram, the CSU Marching Band, Spirit Squad, coaches and players will be at the rally. Ram football Head Coach Jim McElwain will speak at 12:15 p.m. Buffalo burgers, chips and drinks will be served while supplies last.

Friday, Aug. 31

Ram Rally on the 16th Street Mall
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Skyline Park
The Ram Rally on the 16th Street Mall in Denver includes a CSU Showcase highlighting initiatives and giveaways from different divisions around the university, as well as other CSU partners. At noon, there will be a pep rally featuring the voice of the Rams, Brian Roth, as emcee, women’s basketball Head Coach Ryun Williams, former CSU Ram Caleb Hanie, as well as the CSU Pep Band, cheerleaders and CAM the Ram.

As part of College Colors Day, complimentary burritos with chips and salsa from Wahoo’s Colorado will be available to the first 500 Ram fans that show up wearing green and gold.

Event attendees will have a chance to win a Rams showdown package, which includes two tickets to the game, a parking pass and two tickets to the CSU Alumni Association’s Official Pregame Tailgate on Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.

Ram Rally at Katie Mullens
5:30 – 8 p.m., Katie Mullens, 1550 Court Place, Denver
Join CAM the Ram, CSU cheerleaders and hundreds of fans for a pep rally full of appetizers, drink specials, competitions and giveaways at Katie Mullens in Denver. Highlights for this year’s event include a buffalo piñata and the Biggest Fan competition will be judged by 2012’s Miss Colorado Collegiate, a CSU alumna. Head Coach Ryun Williams of women’s basketball will also be in attendance. The event is free to attend.

Saturday, Sept. 1

CSU Alumni Association’s Official Pregame Ram Rally
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
This event, hosted by CSU’s Alumni Association, features CAM the Ram, a performance by the CSU Marching Band and Spirit Squad, live music by Chadzilla and the Asteroids, a photo booth and games. The event is open to the public. Attendees have the option of purchasing tickets that include a drink ticket and access to the food tent. A food ticket costs $25 for Alumni Association members, $30 for non-members and $15 for children under 12.

CSU vs. CU Football Game
Kickoff at 2 p.m., Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Denver

The Cinch Jeans Rocky Mountain Showdown is Colorado’s longest-running, in-state football rivalry. Individual game tickets are on sale at www.csurams.com.
