CSU’s Everitt Real Estate Center to Co-Host 16th Annual Northern Colorado Real Estate Conference

The 16th Annual Northern Colorado Real Estate Conference will be held from 7 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Fort Collins Marriot. The conference will be hosted by Colorado State University’s Everitt Real Estate Center and the Northern Colorado Commercial Association of REALTORS®.

"This is absolutely the biggest real estate event of the year in Northern Colorado,” said Eric Holsapple, executive director of the EREC.

The conference features an impressive lineup of speakers. John Covert, director of Metrostudy’s Colorado Region, will present a residential market update. Covert has been researching and analyzing housing markets since 1999. He launched Metrostudy’s office in the Denver/Colorado Springs area in the fall of 2001, and he is responsible for all operations, including surveying, consulting and managing local client relationships. Metrostudy is the leading provider of primary and secondary market information for the housing industry in the nation.

Matt Bannister from CoStar Group, Inc., a leading provider of commercial real estate information and analytics, will present a commercial market update. CoStar conducts expansive, ongoing research to produce and maintain the largest and most comprehensive database of commercial real estate information.

The owner and developer of Twin Peaks Mall in Longmont, Allen Ginsborg from NewMark Merrill, and Foothills Fashion Mall in Fort Collins, Donald G. Provost from Alberta Development Partners, will offer insights into the redevelopment plans for these two important regional retail outlets. Ginsborg is one of the Rocky Mountain region’s leading experts on the retail operations, and the division of NewMark Merrill that he co-founded in 2007 owns or operates 1.5 million square feet of property along Colorado’s Front Range. Provost has more than 20 years of real estate experience. Under his leadership, Alberta Development Partners has completed in excess of 220 projects with a completed value of more than $1.5 billion.

In addition, Bob Everitt, founder of Everitt Enterprises and the original developer of Foothills Fashion Mall, will be on hand to offer a historical development perspective.

The lunch address, which is sponsored by the law firm Brownstein, Hyatt, Farber and Schreck, will be presented by Chad McWhinney, co-founder and CEO of McWhinney. He will discuss current trends in the residential and commercial real estate markets and discuss his strategies and business expectations for 2013, including risks and opportunities. McWhinney is a fully integrated, diversified, real estate company that creates and owns large-scale, multi-use projects and develops, owns and manages income-producing properties primarily for its own account.

The EREC Annual Northern Colorado Real Estate Conference has always been about bringing people together. The conference is a gathering of a diverse group of business people including builders, brokers, developers, architects, lawyers, lenders, community planners, investors and government officials.
