Colorado State University’s Everitt Real Estate Center presents nationally recognized housing economist Mark Fleming Feb. 13

As the United States heads into the traditional house-buying season in 2013, real estate professionals wonder whether the market will be as strong as it was in 2012.

Mark Fleming, chief economist for CoreLogic, will try to answer this question and more, Wednesday, Feb. 13, 4–6 p.m. at the Hilton Fort Collins, 425 W. Prospect Road, Fort Collins. The title of his presentation, sponsored by the Everitt Real Estate Center at Colorado State University, is “Once a Hare, Now a Tortoise.”

“The chief economist of CoreLogic, the largest data provider of real estate information in the country, is coming to Fort Collins,” said Eric Holsapple, executive director of the Everitt Real Estate Center. “Don’t miss this event to hear about coming trends in housing.”

Fleming leads the economics team responsible for analysis, commentary, and forecasting trends in the real estate and mortgage markets. His research interests include real estate and urban economics, applied econometrics, and mortgage risk. Fleming is frequently quoted by trade publications and national news outlets, such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Housing Wire and is a regular guest on news channels such as CNBC, CBS, NPR, and Fox Business News. Fleming has more than 15 years’ experience in the mortgage and real estate information business.

Before joining CoreLogic, Fleming worked at Fannie Mae developing property valuation models for use in mortgage origination, quality control, and loss mitigation. Fleming graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master of Science and a doctorate in agricultural and resource economics and holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Swarthmore College. He lives and works in the Washington, D.C., area.
