Venture Adventure Challenge to Showcase Colorado State University Student Entrepreneurs

On May 3, the top 20 entrepreneurial teams from across Colorado State University will compete in the Venture Adventure Challenge, a business pitch competition, at the Rocky Mountain Innosphere. The top three teams will receive up to $25,000 in cash and in-kind prizes for their efforts.

The Institute for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business is looking for both competitors and sponsors to become involved in the event.

Of the 20 teams selected to compete, 12 will be Venture Accelerator teams and eight will be chosen from across campus. Each team must have at least one current CSU undergraduate or graduate student, but teams from all disciplines and levels of business experience are encouraged to apply. Individuals are also welcome to compete – teams need only consist of one student to be considered.

To apply, each team must complete and submit a two-page executive summary (template available online or via request email) to IEinfo@business.colostate.edu.
For this competition, teams are not judged by their business plans, but rather on their ability to present their venture in a compelling and confident manner. Each team will have 10 minutes to present, using no more than 15 slides, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A from the judges.

The competition begins at noon on May 3 at the Innosphere, 320 E. Vine Drive in Fort Collins. The first round will conclude at 4 p.m. The top five teams will compete in the final round beginning at 5 p.m. the same day. The winners will be announced at 7 p.m. during the awards banquet and reception.

Sponsors can make cash or in-kind donations to the competition, and they will be recognized according to their donations. To learn more about what comes with each level of donating, or if you are interested in sponsoring, please contact Charisse Bowen, director of CSU’s Institute for Entreprenuership, at 970-491-2737 or charisse.bowen@business.colostate.edu.
