The 2013 Lagoon Summer Concert Series Kicks Off Today at Colorado State University

The Lagoon Summer Concert Series, a summer event held annually in Fort Collins, begins on Wednesday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m. on the Colorado State University campus. The series will continue weekly on Wednesday nights ending with a performance on Aug. 14.

CSU hosts the yearly series at its Lagoon in coordination with the Mantooth Marketing Company. Families can bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners to enjoy the free music.

The 2013 Lagoon Summer Concert Series features a variety of bands, each with their own unique sound, including Mark Sloniker, The Wendy Woo Band, Tumbling Dice, Retro 80’s, The Blues DoGS and Amplified Souls.

This year, representatives from CSU’s colleges and divisions will host informational booths, games, prizes and more for concert goers providing each week with its own unique flair.

“We are proud to once again sponsor and host the Lagoon Summer Concert Series,” said Tom Milligan, vice president for CSU’s Division of External Relations. “The concerts are a great way to welcome the entire community to campus and for the university to support the thriving music scene in Fort Collins.”

“Mantooth has been proud all the years to present this great outdoor series to our community,” said Connie Hanrahan, owner of Mantooth Marketing Company, a marketing, public relations and event planning company.

Due to the recent road closure on Meridian Avenue and continued construction, parking for the concerts has been altered. Visit www.lagoonseries.com/event-map-parking for parking alternatives. Concert goers are urged to walk or ride bikes to campus to reduce parking lot overcrowding and vehicle traffic congestion.
