Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge Collegiate Finals May 2

FORT COLLINS — Fifteen businesses created by Colorado college students have been preparing since January to vie for $20,000, 12 months of business mentoring and coaching, and the chance to compete against established startups for a grand prize of $250,000 in the CSU Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge on May 24.

On Friday, May 2, the Collegiate Competitors take their pitches to the stage of the Fort Collins Lincoln Center for their final showdown in the business pitch competition sponsored by Colorado State University and Blue Ocean Enterprises.

The semi-finals of the Collegiate Track Challenge start at 8 a.m. Each team has 10 minutes to pitch their business to a panel of high-profile judges, and 10 minutes to answer their questions. Finalists will be announced at 5 p.m.

The top five teams return to face a different panel of judges at 6 p.m. The awards presentation begins at 9 p.m., when the winner receives $20,000 and $2,500 worth of HP equipment; a second place prize of $10,000 and third place prize of $5,000 will also be awarded.

The competitors represent four universities and colleges in Colorado: Colorado State University, University of Colorado-Boulder, University of Denver and Air Force Academy. Ten of the competitors are representing CSU.

Registration is free but required for events in the Collegiate Track Competition, either online or at the door. Registered attendees have access to all the day’s events.
