Colorado State University, Rio Grande restaurants team up for ‘Rams at the Rio’

Two Colorado institutions – Colorado State University and Rio Grande restaurants – are partnering to bring great football and great food and drinks together on game days.

Starting with Saturday night’s game at Boise State, “Rams at the Rio” watch parties will be held at locations throughout the state.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Rio,” said Tom Milligan, vice president for external relations at CSU. “The Rio is a true Colorado classic, and our fans will have a great time watching the Rams at Rio locations around the state.”

Rio Grande locations in downtown Denver, Park Meadows, Greeley and Steamboat Springs will feature the Rams in action during televised football games. In Fort Collins, the Rio will feature a post-game party for Ram fans.

“Two long-standing traditions in the state of Colorado are joining this year to celebrate and cheer on the CSU Rams through the CSU Alumni Association,” said Jason Barrett, CEO of Rio Grande restaurants. “Much of the Rio’s success since 1986 has been due to CSU patrons – both past and present. What a great way to move forward with this new tradition.”

Every Rio location will have the finest food and drink available for all Ram fans, as well as giveaway items at each location. And every restaurant will be appropriately decorated in CSU green and gold.

Later this fall, the Rio’s newest location in Frisco will open and be ready for game days with the Rams.

While the Fort Collins Rio is offering a post-game party for fans, the official watch party location in Fort Collins is the Boot Grill.
