MEDIA ADVISORY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Colorado State University street to be renamed Amy Van Dyken Way

Colorado State University will honor alumnus and Olympic swimming legend Amy Van Dyken-Rouen at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, by renaming West Drive on campus Amy Van Dyken Way.

Media are invited to attend the ceremony, which will be held near the Administration Building on the southwest corner of CSU’s historic Oval. This marks the first time a campus street has been named for a former student.

Van Dyken-Rouen is a six-time Olympic gold medalist. In 1996 she became the first American female to win four gold medals in a single Olympics.

Van Dyken-Rouen will be available for interviews at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the ceremony site.
