FORT COLLINS — The next installment of the Colorado State University President’s Lecture Series is set for March 4. Ajay Menon, dean of the CSU College of Business and Colorado’s first Chief Innovation Officer, will speak at 6:30 p.m. in the University Center for the Arts Organ Recital Hall, 1400 Remington St., with a reception immediately following.

The lecture and reception are free and open to the public, but reservations are required because space is limited.

Menon’s topic is “Imagining Innovation: Building innovative and smart communities. How technology and social trends are helping to build vibrant economic communities.”

Menon has been the dean of the College of Business since 2002, putting into practice his deeply held belief that business people acting ethically can make a positive difference in the world. He was selected by Gov. John Hickenlooper as the state’s Chief Innovation Officer in 2011, and sits on the board of advisors for the Colorado Innovation Network. As CIO, Menon led the effort to develop an eco-system that cultivates entrepreneurial and innovative activities in Colorado.

The President’s Community Lecture Series takes place four times a year in various locations on the Colorado State campus. The series highlights the University’s outstanding programs and faculty. Previous speakers in the series have been University Distinguished Professors Steven Withrow and Diana Wall, and professors Lori Peek and Bryan Willson.
