CSU students to help older adults with smartphones, tablets

Colorado State University students will volunteer at a workshop on Oct. 31 to help older adults learn how to save and share the photos they take on their smartphones or tablets.

The workshop, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Fort Collins Senior Center, will feature students from CSU’s Department of Human Development and Family Studies and the gerontology interdisciplinary minor. They are part of Associate Professor Christine Fruhauf’s “Perspectives in Gerontology” class and are participating to fulfill a service-learning requirement for the course.

The session will include one-on-one, hands-on activities to provide participants with practice using their devices.

In addition to CSU and the Senior Center, the event is sponsored by the nonprofit Front Range PC Users Group.

Attendees should bring their smartphones or tablets to the session, which costs. $16. To register for the class, visit the Senior Center, call 970-221-6644 or visit www.fcgov.com/recreator. The activity number is 407419-01.

The Senior Center is located at 1200 Raintree Dr. in Fort Collins, near Rolland Moore Park.
