More than 1,500 third-grade students from the Poudre School District will visit Colorado State University’s Agricultural Research, Development and Education Center on Wednesday and Thursday.

Members of the media can visit the revival of the Ag Adventure tradition by CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. both days.

The students will be visiting ARDEC for the school day and partaking in hands-on learning experiences with animal handling; agronomy; farm, meat and food safety; and many other important topics in today’s agricultural industry. ARDEC is located off I-25 north of Fort Collins, at 4616 NE Frontage Road.

Student volunteers Alex Heeke, Kelsey Dobesh, Terrel Platt, Wesley Woolery, Jacob Walter, Kristen Schmidt, David McKinney, Victoria Mercier and Belle Parra served on the planning committee with faculty advisors Ken Barbarick and Marshall Frasier.

Other CSU student volunteers are needed to aid in leading the students through the various learning stations. For more information, email agadventurecsu@gmail.com.
