Scott Shrake has been named director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Colorado State University. Shrake previously served as executive director of Entrepreneurial Advancement at Arizona State University.

“Scott Shrake has vast experience building entrepreneurship-related educational programs, engaging with corporate partners, and managing large networks of entrepreneurship mentors and donors,” said Beth Walker, dean of CSU’s College of Business. “He will take the entrepreneurship program in the College of Business to the next level.”

Shrake, who also was a faculty member of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at ASU, developed and maintained relationships with local, national and international organizations as well as generated millions of dollars in funding to support engineering programs. In addition, he co-founded Vicinity Health LLC, where he was responsible for external relationship development and management with investors, suppliers and manufacturers.

Shrake received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

“I see an incredible amount of opportunity for the College of Business Institute for Entrepreneurship to further elevate our world-class institution and be leaders in innovation and impact entrepreneurship,” said Shrake. “We have a strong foundation to build on for exciting new efforts like the Venture Development Platform which focuses on quality mentorship, immersive experiences, prototyping space and access to capital. These are all essential to a true entrepreneurial experience and are what make CSU, and Fort Collins, the place to create new startups.”
