Ambassador Ryan Crocker will explore America’s ever-changing relationship with the Middle East on Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. in the North Ballroom of the Lory Student Center on the Colorado State University campus.

His talk, “Middle East Meltdown: Causes and Consequences,” is  sponsored by the Office of International Programs. It will cover the vast range of topics that dominate the current discussion around this region of the world. The event is free and open to the public.

Crocker was a career diplomat for 37 years and served as ambassador to Kuwait, Syria, Pakistan, Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan, under both Presidents Bush, Clinton, and Obama. He has received many awards for his service, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush in 2009.

Crocker was dean of Texas A&M University’s George Bush School of Government and Public Service between 2010 and 2016.
