Media Advisory: CSU Hackathon participants to develop mixed-reality experiences Oct. 18-20

WHAT:

Teams of software developers, programmers, artists and innovators will gather on the CSU campus for a 48-hour competition. The event is designed to engage students in a collaborative way that allows them to create a virtual and augmented reality experience.

WHERE/WHEN:

The event begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 and ends at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20 and is held in the Nancy Richardson Design Center on campus.

DETAILS:

Friday, Oct. 18 participants arrive and choose teams of 3-5 and begin brainstorming their immersive experience. Saturday, Oct. 19 teams will be offered feedback and mentorship from virtual reality experts, artists and programmers. Sunday, Oct. 20 teams will continue to work on projects leading into final demonstrations to an esteemed panel of virtual and augmented reality experts, leaders and innovators. Winning teams will receive cash prizes.
