Program prioritizes innovation, access, and student success

Colorado State University’s College of Business Online MBA program has been ranked among the top 10 online MBA programs nationally and top 25 globally by the prestigious ranking institution QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

The rankings build on the College’s nearly 50 years of leadership in online and distance learning. They showcase the Online MBA’s key benefits, which include an exceptional classroom experience, a focus on student access and success and, ultimately, employability and career growth. These qualities make CSU’s Online MBA a preferred choice among students.

“Colorado State’s land-grant mission of access to an exceptional education was central when we designed our Online MBA to offer flexible options based on individual needs,” College of Business Dean Beth Walker said. “Our programs incorporate leading-edge technology to engage learners in formats that place the student experience first. This incredible achievement is a testament to the quality of our staff, faculty and program that is custom-made for students who strive to create a better future for themselves, their families and the world.”

The Online MBA provides flexibility in learning formats, start dates and electives while offering students direct support from faculty, advisors and career counselors. True to the College’s tradition of innovation, its unique Mosaic experience harnesses leading-edge technology that allows online students to seamlessly connect with peers and faculty in real time.

The program’s combination of flexibility and individualized support has proven highly effective in attracting a wide range of students and enabling them to pursue an MBA. As a result, the program has seen a 13% increase in women enrolled as well as a 12% increase in active military and veteran students.

“Everything we do promotes ease of learning and student access to business education,” Associate Dean of Graduate Programs Travis Maynard said. “We have the curricular choices and the flexibility in delivery that many professionals demand, focusing on providing our students the tools they need to shape their future, contribute to their organizations even while they are students in our program, and ultimately, use business as a force for positive change.”

The QS rankings reflect the Online MBA’s individualized approach to learning and the quality of our faculty-developed, AACSB-accredited degree programs. Faculty who are at the forefront of discovering business insights incorporate their findings into the classroom, providing students with the latest findings as they are published in leading academic journals.

As one of the largest Online MBA programs in the country, students gain the benefits of scale as well as the College’s highly customized approach to supporting student success. This individualized approach starts with the small size of each course section, which averages about 40 students to facilitate dialogue and networking with classmates and faculty. Dedicated Instructional Coordinators support remote learning needs to supplement the material delivered by faculty. Student support includes access to in-house academic advisors who help students decide upon the classes and credentials best suited to their lifestyles, learning preferences and career goals as well as career coaching from the College’s Career Management Center throughout the program and after graduation.

In addition to the recent QS rankings, the CSU College of Business Online MBA continues to receive recognition among the world’s top programs, including recently earning No. 30 among Fortune’s 100 Best Online MBA programs. The prestigious list showcased the program as one of the 10 largest Online MBAs by enrollment while maintaining a 91% first-year retention rate, a strong indicator of students’ satisfaction.

“We want to increase access to a career-advancing MBA to as many students as possible,” Walker said. “If a student has the drive to pursue their degree and can demonstrate a strong academic baseline to show their preparedness, our world-class Online MBA is within their reach.”
