Anne Lenaerts is a professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology. Her research focuses on development and application of novel preclinical animal models to further both anti-tuberculosis drug discovery and study anti-mycobacterial resistance and persistence. Lenaerts leads the NIH Drug-testing Contract for Mycobacterial Infections.
Lenaerts holds a B.S. in biology, an M.S. in physiology and biochemistry, and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the State University of Ghent in Belgium.
