Arlene Schmid is an associate professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Her research focuses on stroke rehabilitation, neuro-rehabilitation and alternative therapies like yoga, both as an intervention and as a complement to rehabilitation. Schmid is affiliated with several professional organizations including the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado, the International Association of Yoga Therapists and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Schmid received her B.S. and M.S. in occupational therapy from D’Youville College in 1997. She earned her Ph.D. in rehabilitation science from the University of Florida in 2005.
