Don Hillger is a research scientist with the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA). His research focuses on satellite meteorology from geostationary and polar-orbiting platforms, as well as satellite instrument calibration and validation, satellite data and image quality, and planning for advanced and future instrumentation. Hillger has been a research scientist with the Regional and Mesoscale Meteorology branch of NOAA since 1987.
Hillger received his B.S. in physics from the University of Minnesota in 1973. He then studied atmospheric science at CSU, earning his M.S. in 1976 and his Ph.D. in 1983.
