Ellen Fisher is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and assistant vice president for strategic initiatives in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Her research focuses on using analytical and materials chemistry methods to understand underlying mechanisms of chemical vapor deposition and plasma-enhanced CVD processes. Her specific emphasis is on plasma etching and deposition of silicon-based materials, plasma polymerization and processing of polymers, and synthesis of nanostructured materials.
Fisher received her B.S. in chemistry and mathematics from Texas Lutheran University and her Ph.D. in physical-analytical chemistry from the University of Utah.
