Jennifer Harman is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on intimate relationships, power and aggression, particularly in relationships that have dissolved (e.g., divorce). She is also on the Board of Directors for Simply Parent, a nonprofit serving alienated parents and children.
Harman received her B.A. in psychology and women’s studies from Hunter College, CUNY, in 1996. She earned an M.A. and Ed.M. in psychological counseling from Columbia University in 1998. She then studied social psychology at the University of Connecticut, earning another M.A. in 2004 and her Ph.D. in 2005. Harman is involved with several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, and the Society for Behavioral Medicine.
