Jessica Witt is a professor in the Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on action-specific perception, perception of spatial layout, perception and action relationships, and embodied perception and cognition.
In 2011, Witt received the James C. Naylor Award for Teaching Excellence in Psychology. She currently serves on the editorial board for both Psychological Science and the Journal of Experimental Psychology.
Witt received her B.A. in psychology from Smith College in 2000. She then studied cognitive psychology at the University of Virginia, earning her M.A. in 2003 and her Ph.D. in 2007. She is a member of the Vision Sciences Society, the Psychonomic Society and the Association for Psychological Science.
