John P. Hayes
John Hayes is the dean of the Warner College of Natural Resources. His work has focused on applied ecology, with specific emphasis on wildlife ecology and forest science. More recently, his focus has been on the challenges facing our natural resources and the future of natural resources education.
Previously, Hayes was the dean for research at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences and the director of the Florida Agricultural Station. He is the co-editor of two books and the author of numerous technical, semi-technical and popular articles and reports.
Hayes received his undergraduate degree in wildlife science from Oregon State University. He earned his M.S. in biology from Southern Oregon State College, and his Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from Cornell University.
