Katherine R. Knobloch is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies and the associate director of the Center for Public Deliberation. Her research focuses on deliberative democracy and community engagement. Specifically, she explores the development, evaluation and impact of deliberative public processes.
Her work has appeared in The Journal of Applied Communication Research and Javnost – The Public as well as in a number of edited books, including Democracy in Motion: Evaluating the Practice and Impact of Deliberative Civic Engagement and the upcoming Oxford Handbook of Political Communication.
Knobloch received her Ph.D. from the Department of Communication at the University of Washington in 2012 and her M.M.C. from the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University in 2008.
