Marc Winokur is the director of the Social Work Research Center. His work focuses on child welfare; specifically, differential response, kinship care, foster care, residential placements, adoption, family preservation services, family treatment drug courts, juvenile sex offender treatment, family engagement practices, trauma screening, and risk and safety assessment in child protective services.
Winokur taught a research methods course to incoming M.S.W. students for six years, and he continues to serve as chair and methodologist on M.S.W. and Ph.D. research committees for the School of Social Work.
Winokur received his B.A. in English from the University of Michigan in 1990. He earned his M.Ed in instructional leadership from CSU in 2000, and his Ph.D. in education and human resource studies, also from CSU, in 2004.
