Margarita Lenk is an associate professor in both the Department of Accounting and the Department of Computer Information Systems. Her research focuses on engineering and control of business processes and accounting information systems, sustainability practices and metrics, and building university-community partnerships. In addition to this work, Lenk coaches and mentors minority faculty, students and professionals around the country and has served on multiple committees and task forces, including chairing CSU’s Faculty Council Committee on Teaching and Learning.
Lenk has received many awards for her work, including the CSU Board of Governors Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2009, the American Accounting Association Outstanding Educator for Emerging Technologies in 2006, and the State of Colorado Outstanding Accounting Educator in 1997.
Lenk received her B.S. in business administration from the University of Central Florida in 1981, a Master of Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1987, and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of South Carolina in 1991.
