Phil Cafaro is a professor in the Department of Philosophy. His research focuses on environmental ethics, consumption and population issues, and wildlands preservation.
He is the author of How Many is Too Many: The Progressive Argument for Reducing Immigration into the United States and Thoreau’s Living Ethics: Walden and the Pursuit of Virtue, and the co-editor of Life on the Brink: Environmentalists Confront Overpopulation. Cafaro is an affiliate of CSU’s School of Global Environmental Sustainability and past president of the International Society for Environmental Ethics.
Cafaro earned his Ph.D. from Boston University in 1997.
