Shrideep Pallickara is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and a Monfort Professor at Colorado State University. His research expertise is in the area of large-scale distributed systems, specifically, cloud computing and big data. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in this area. His research has been deployed in domains such as epidemiology, earthquake science, environmental and ecological monitoring, health-care systems, high-energy physics, defense applications, geosciences, GIS and commercial internet conferencing systems.
His research has been funded by agencies in the United States and the United Kingdom, including the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Long Range program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the United Kingdom’s Open Middleware Infrastructure Institute. He is also a recipient of the National Science Foundation’s CAREER award and the CSU Board of Governors’ Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award.
