Wendy Wood is a professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and the director of research for the Temple Grandin Equine Center. Her research focuses on the study of equine-assisted activities and therapy, as well as how to promote quality of life in older adults with dementia who live in nursing homes or other institutional facilities.
Wood served as associate editor for the American Journal of Occupational Therapy from 2004 to 2008.
Wood received her B.S. in occupational therapy from Tufts University in 1975. She then studied at the University of Southern California, earning her M.S. in occupational therapy in 1988 and her Ph.D. in occupational sciences in 1995.
