Participants in the Lorenzo de Zavala Youth Legislative Session, co-sponsored by Colorado State University and the National Hispanic Institute, spent the week on campus creating proposals in a mock legislature and holding judicial hearings that related to issues in the Latino community, said Venus Garza, the operations director for the session and associate director of advancement for the National Hispanic Institute.
