“That’s very typical what happens in flood plain systems, that they get rejuvenated,” said Dr. Gene Kelly, who heads up CSU’s Soil Science Department. “In Colorado, we’re mostly water limited, so anything you add to the soil that enhances the ability of the soil or the system to hold on to water, would also help.”
