Coloradoan: Hurricane-force winds were throwing large embers well ahead of the fire from the Pingree Park area — where the Colorado State University Mountain Campus is located — to distant mountainsides. Despite being surrounded by fire, crews saved the campus while Benstein and crew saved people in the Buckhorn Canyon area.
