The Colorado site is the Henderson Mine in Empire. The mine was established in the 1970s and modernized in 1999. The mine’s owner, Climax Molybdenum Co., is an enthusiastic supporter of the laboratory project, also known as the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory, or DUSEL.
