“The tool works by using the demographic and behavioral info that’s requested to essentially calculate an estimate of the sales tax, income tax and gas tax that person would pay, and then it’s taking those and allocating them to the functional areas of the budget,” said Phyllis Resnick of the Colorado Futures Center, one of the data experts who created the tool.
