The lone judge was Kraig Peel, an animal science professor at Colorado State University who travels to judge such shows about 10 times a year. Breeding animals, Peel said, are judged on their potential to, frankly, make more sheep. And what happens to the market animals is a sensitive topic, even among veterans of the circuit.
