Not long after a bill that would have allowed community colleges to offer some four-year degrees was killed, Colorado State University chancellor Michael Martin and state Rep. Dave Young had a conversation about higher education. “I think we were on a bus on the 16th Street Mall,” Young said. “We were wondering about the roles and missions of the two- and four-year schools and how we all need to work together because if we aren’t careful you’d have a situation where everyone was trying to carve out their own turf.”
