Colorado State University political science professor John Straayer said the court ruling was a “gift” to Republicans because it gives them a chance to resurrect the immigration issue heading into November. He said Democrats are at a disadvantage because, while some oppose the ballot measure, their proposed solutions on immigration may be more complicated and harder to explain to voters.
