The health condition of one dog inspired the event, founded by coordinator Lois Arnold, 59, of Phoenix. Arnold’s beloved cockapoo, Carmel, was diagnosed in 2001 with heart failure and given months to live. However, radical bypass surgery at CSU saved his life.
