Steve Alford is in his third season as New Mexico’s men’s basketball coach and has just one senior on his roster. Despite earning a share of the Mountain West Conference title a year ago, along with Brigham Young and Utah, his team was picked to finish fifth in the nine-team conference in a preseason media poll. Yet Monday, the Lobos (25-3, 11-2 MWC) moved up to No. 10 in the Associated Press poll and they’re bringing an 11-game winning streak into tonight’s game against CSU (15-11, 6-6) at Moby Arena.
