Part of a nationwide safe schools initiative in the United Kingdom, London’s Metropolitan Police Services has modeled its Safer School Partnership program after Fort Collins’ highly successful SRO program, which began in 1994. Supported by funding from the United Kingdom Fulbright Alumni Initiative Award and a partnership with Colorado State University and PSD, London officers, called bobbies, are leaning on the experience and expertise of their Fort Collins counterparts as they work to get their 3-year-old program off the ground.
