The Pagosa Springs Sun: This year, TIME named 15-year-old scientist and inventor Gitanjali Rao the first-ever Kid of the Year. Rao was selected from a field of more than 5,000 Americans ages 8 to 16. A resident of Lone Tree, Colo., Rao is an involved 4-H participant in Douglas County. Colorado 4-H is organized and funded, in part, by Colorado State University Extension.
