According to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, between the 2008-09 and 2012-13 school years, resident undergraduate tuition rates at Colorado State University increased by more than 55 percent, while University of Colorado saw a 36 percent hike. The increases were just as prevalent outside the Front Range — Fort Lewis College had a 68.7 percent rise, and Western State Colorado University was at 60.7 percent.
