It was the moment Tanner Hedstrom had been preparing for every day for more than 2 1/2 years – for most of his life, even. Hedstrom, a Fort Collins native, was running onto Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium as a member of the CSU football team in what at the time was a tight game against TCU, the fifth-ranked team in the country.
